Review:

Do you ever pick up a book expecting it to be something, but then turn out to be completely different? Well, that happened to me. Most of the time that turns out to be a bad thing (in my case). However, with this particular book it was a truly good thing!

As you can tell by the synopsis, this book is definitely a thriller! When I first picked it up I got the feeling that it was going to be an eerie type of book. Although the concept was kind of creepy, I couldn't help but feel as if it was more of an action-y type book.

Our main character Mackenzie, best know as Kenzie, is your usual shy girl, a bit geeky, very few friends, etc. Soon enough, things start getting very interesting for her. Starting up with what is known as the "Hottie List" at her school. This list contains the 10 prettiest girls in school ranked from highest to lowest. Kenzie just made #5. This strikes her as unusual since she isn't by any means popular. Thing get even weirder when the school jock, Josh, starts showing a sudden interest for her. She also comes across bad-boy Levi who seems to be genuinely riveted by her. Thus creating a subtle love triangle. I described it s subtle because, in spite of the fact that it is undoubtedly there, the story isn't entirely focused on the romance. It isn't one of those insufferable love triangles. (at least not to me) Anyway, Kenzie starts hanging out with the popular kids and regardless of not being a 100% comfortable or used to the scene, she kind of enjoys it. Until the first girl on the list dies. Naturally, people start freaking out, Although authorities said it was a freak accident, many start speculating and blame it o Levi. Then more of the girls die and Kenzie can't help but think that maybe these accidents weren't accidents at all. Especially since she keeps getting weird text messages and seeing the weird black pick up truck just about everywhere. She finds herself in the situation of finding out what is really happening with the girls before the same thing happens to her.

THIS BOOK WAS GREAT. It was intriguing since the very beginning and fast paced too! If you happen to love anything that's creepy and thrilling then, my friend, this book is for you! It seems to me that this book is underrated. I practically haven't heard anyone talking about it and it definitely deserves some buzz!

  1. Omg! I love psychological thrillers... As books hate them as TV shows with a longstanding "who is it" and no definitive answer of when you will find out aka PLL. With that said books have a Certain amount of pages and therefore the anxiety does not over swell into torture! This book looks great I love that it got a good rating

    1. Someone finally said it! THANK YOU. lol I feel the exact same way. When it comes to TV shows everything is great at first, but then it merely drags on. Precisely the reason why I stopped watching PLL a long time ago.
I definitely suggest you read this book, though. It's a great read!
